Our 2001 Belize
Vacation
Our
annual trip to the island of Ambergris
Caye off the mainland of Belize consisted of two weeks of total enjoyment!
We stayed in our "usual spot" in downtown San Pedro.
At the Belize City airport, you are reminded
that this is Mayan country.
Rick & Ed are ready to board the
island plane to Ambergris Caye.

We are over the island and you can see
the reef line clearly.

From our room balcony,
we look out at the familiar view, the beautiful Barrier Reef in the Caribbean
Sea.
Downtown San Pedro looked very much the
same, sleepy and peaceful.
There was a new bricked
area of road along the airstrip. As all other roads are sand, it was a
sure sign of progress.
The park in the middle of town had a
new sculpture.
A mural depicting the several landscapes
of Belize was being painted on the side of a new market building.
